Allahshukur Mosque inaugurated in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

In accordance with the decree of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on celebrating the 70th birthday anniversary of Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade and 40th anniversary of his activity as Sheikh-ul-Islam, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations has organized a jubilee ceremony in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.


As part of the jubilee events, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade attended the opening of the newly built Allahshukur Mosque in Dirnis village, Ordubad District.


Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade was presented with the state registration of religious community certificate No 19 by the State Agency for Work with Religious Organizations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.


The construction of the mosque was mainly inspired by national architectural traditions with the focus on modernity. The main portal, which is an essential element of the country’s national architecture, is located on the western facade of the building. The portal is adorned with a unique arches and ornaments of Momina Khatun Mausoleum.
